Founded in 1966, Meres International School is the only private Asturian centre accredited as an official international school by the IBO (International Baccalaureate Organization), one of the first in Spain to achieve this.

Our model of academic and educational excellence is aimed at girls and boys from 3 to 18 years old, based on the promotion of critical thinking, self-discipline and teamwork to train multidisciplinary, global and resilient students and people.

Academic Excellence

Average of 11.74 in the EBAU 2024, with 23.67% of students scoring 13 or higher, including the highest mark in Asturias (14). In languages, we surpassed the regional average in English and French by 1.73 points.

Esta semana, el alumnado de 6º de Primaria visitó la fábrica de chocolates Lacasa, aquí en Meres, para descubrir cómo nace el chocolate: desde el cultivo del grano de cacao hasta su llegada a las tiendas. 🍫✨

Durante la visita pudieron seguir el proceso paso a paso y entender cómo ese grano se transforma en las tabletas y paraguas que todos conocemos. Una experiencia muy completa para aprender de cerca, hacer preguntas y observar.

This week, our Year 6 Primary students visited the Lacasa chocolate factory, right here in Meres, to learn how chocolate is made—from the cocoa bean’s cultivation all the way to the final product in shops. 🍫✨

They followed the process step by step and discovered how the cocoa bean becomes the chocolate bars and “paraguas” we all know. A fantastic learning experience to observe, ask questions, and understand real-life production up close.
